ILWU Monument
Commissioned to mark the 50th anniversary of the ILWU, the monument commemorates the police killing of Howard Sperry and Nick Bordoise on “Bloody Thursday,” July 5, 1934. The incident sparked the 1934 general strike and led to the founding of the ILWU.
