E.D. Nixon was a porter for the Pullman Company and served as president of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters’ Union several times. As NAACP Montgomery Chapter president, Nixon recruited M.L. King Jr. to assist in the Bus Boycott of 1955-56.
