Union Days
Stories from a union scrapbook
When Simon Sapper was growing up, kids wanted to be astronauts, footballers, scientists, store-owners… But he knew he wanted to be part of the union world, part of the struggle for better jobs, safer conditions, greater equality. So Simon has worked in and for labor unions throughout his working life. It’s been a huge privilege and a great experience. Veterinarians, cops, lawyers, medics, even soccer players’ wives all get to tell their tales. Now it’s the turn of a labor rep to open the scrap book of stories: the people, places, scraps and scrapes. Heroes and villains. Tall tales and low blows. It’s the stuff of life itself and in UnionDays, Simon shares these stories with you.
